October, as the leaves transform our Capital City into a vibrant tapestry of colors, we invite you to roll up your sleeves and help us make Michigan's Capital City cleaner, healthier, and a more enjoyable place to live and play! "Autumn Anew - Keep It Beautiful" is a must-attend community-wide event aimed at beautifying our treasured waterways, riverside parks, and adjacent stretches of our prized river trail.

If you're a photographer or a lover of our outdoors, and would like to help us capture and share the beauty of our Capital City's waterways, we are holding our second annual Autumn Anew photography contest. WE HAVE MUCH TO CELEBRATE
We are excited to share that in June of this year, we officially declared and celebrated our Capital City's Grand and Red Cedar Rivers, Sycamore Creek, all riverside parks, and miles of adjacent stretches of the Lansing River Trail as clean and cleared.

This remarkable feat, a first of its kind, would not have been possible without the extraordinary and herculean efforts of thousands of volunteers, as well as the generous support of our year-round partners and event sponsors.

We are holding our ninth community-wide waterways stewardship event here in Lansing. Its title is "Autumn Anew - Keep It Beautiful." The event is much more than stewardship; it's a celebration of community. You won't want to miss it!

We ask you to join us, help us protect and build on this legacy, and further entrench our Capital City as Michigan's most scenic and enjoyable urban waterways destination.

AUTUMN ANEW EVENT DETAILS
Event: Autumn Anew - Keep It Beautiful
Event HQ: Rotary Park along the Grand River near the Lansing Convention Center
Date: Saturday October 24, 2026
Time: 10AM - 2PM
Picnic Lunch: Beginning near 1PM
While the main event date is set for Saturday, October 24, due to the importance of the work, the large area being covered, and to allow everyone who wants to participate, we are eager to support volunteer activities from now through Saturday, November 14, 2026.

EVERYTHING WILL BE PROVIDED
We provide everything needed, including trash pickers, garbage bags, Nitrile gloves, snacks, and bottled water. For greater protection and comfort, we encourage you to bring your own work gloves. We also have a limited quantity of kayaks available for FREE for those wanting to steward our waterways.

Just come ready to have tons of fun, create lasting memories, and make an impact. Please sign up using the links directly below to choose your volunteer area of choice, whether it be on either the Grand or Red Cedar River, Sycamore Creek, at any of our riverside parks, or along the adjacent stretch of the Lansing River Trail.
