|
To promote Capital City Region waterways stewardship and recreation there will be special fly fishing and tying exhibition held at Meridian Historical Village titled, "Meridian on the Fly."
Red Cedar Fly Fishers will be providing expert instruction and helpful exhibition. This event is being provided via the collaboration of MSU Rotaract, Red Cedar Fly Fishers, Meridian Township, and Michigan Waterways Stewards. Join us for an evening at Meridian's historical village. With this fall's event we are undertaking two (2) capital city parks beautification projects:
1. Cherry Hill Park (Grand River), Friday, September 20; 9:00 - 3:00PM 2. Kruger's Landing (Red Cedar River), Saturday, September 21; 10AM - 1PM We envision our having these park's grass meticulously mowed, parking lot swept and stripes painted. We will clear the area of all litter, trash, and woody debris, and trim back bushes, shrubs, and trees. We hope to have mulch brought in so we can give the park greater shape, and paint and stain where needed. In Cherry Hill Park we will be working to clear invasive species trees, shrubs, and grasses, then later replace them with natives. This will be done in cooperation with Mid-Michigan Land Conservancy and volunteer groups. |
