Celebrating Marshall and Its Treasured Waterways

A Rotary Club of Marshall Event presented by BlueOval Battery Park Michigan.

Marshall Waterways Day

A Celebration of Marshall and Its Waterways.
Date: Saturday, October 12
Time: 10:00AM - 2:00PM
Event Headquarters: Ketchum Park
Few cities in America are blessed with such scenic, varied, and pleasant waterways as Marshall. The Kalamazoo River, Rice and Bear creeks frame our lovely city and provide miles of recreation from fishing, paddling, floating, and wildlife viewing.

For addition outdoor adventure Marshall's Riverwalk has many lovely overlooks. The 1.6 mile raised boardwalk runs along a paved biking path following both Rice Creek and Kalamazoo River.

Then we have a long list of charming parks. Brooks Nature Area, Brooks Memorial Fountain Park, Ketchum Park, and Stuart's Landing, each with water features giving them greater charm and dimension.

Let's not overlook Bear Creek Farm with its park amenities framing both sides of its namesake; Bear Creek. There is Saylor's Landing which many consider one of Michigan's most lovely boat launch parks. Then there is the Holt-Rice Creek property, along Rice Creek, with woods, wetland, and agricultural fields.

We are blessed with a plethora of lovely waterways, treasured parks, and prized Riverwalk. But some need a little TLC, some a little more.

As Rotary Club of Marshall celebrates the beginning of its second 100 years here in Marshall, we pledge our support to help care and beautify our city's waterways, adjoining parks, and Riverwalk, to make them the envy of all of Michigan.

Work has already begun with much more needed to be done. Join us on our journey. Enjoy the ease and joy in which we accomplish great things when working together; "Many hands makes light work."

On Saturday, October 12, we will showcase and celebrate our work completed with special events, activities, hospitality, entertainment, and grand reveals.  We accept this as the beginning of a remarkably rewarding and exciting journey. Join us!

Thank you,

Martin Overhiser
President, Rotary Club of Marshall
