The Red Cedar River Cleanup is More Than Stewardship. It's a Celebration of Community.

What started as a need to clean up a small bend in the Red Cedar River has developed into Michigan's largest student-led community-wide waterways stewardship event. This fall's event is a collaboration between MSU's Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, MSU Rotaract, Okemos High School Earth Club, Meridian Township, Michigan Waterways Stewards, and Michigan State University - IPF.

We're expecting a volunteer count greater than 200 this spring, making this event its largest. To volunteer or sponsor, scroll to the bottom of this page an enter your contact information.

Everything needed will be provided for our volunteers, including: garbage bags, trash pickers, PPE gloves, hand sanitizer snacks, water, and more. We will be serving food and drinks, and providing recreation too. If you wish to volunteer with a group of six or more, we'll feature your organization's logo or team name in our marketing. If you wish to support financially or in-kind, we would love to hear from you.
We would love to feature your organization as an event partner, sponsor, or volunteer organization. It is because of the generous support of so many that our work is possible, that our Red Cedar River is cleaner, healthier, and more pleasant to use.
