THE EVENT IS STILL ON - AND IT'S BIGGER AND BETTER!

NEW Headquarter Site Due To Heavy Rains and Flooding.
Because of current flood levels and more rain in the forecast, we are changing of our event headquarters location to Lansing's River Point Park. This is where the Red Cedar and Grand River meet and where river levels are well below the height of the riverbanks, making for a safe, enjoyable, and high-impact volunteer event.

EVENT HEADQUARTER: LANSING RIVER POINT PARK
Suggested Parking: Behind the 927 S. Washington Ave. building
Saturday, April 11, 2026
Early Bird Start: 10AM
Official Start: 11AM

This Twice-yearly Red Cedar River Cleanup is More Than Stewardship.
It's a Celebration of Community.

PictureEvent partners and sponsors.
What started as a need to clean up a small bend in the Red Cedar River just east of campus has developed into Michigan's largest student-led community-wide waterways stewardship event. This spring's 2026 event, led by MSU's Interfraternity Council, will span over 3-miles of combined Red Cedar and Grand River frontage.

The work will include litter patrol, Lansing River Trail grooming, and Kruger's Landing beautification. The areas of interest include:
1. Moores Park to River Point Park
2. River Point Park to the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum
3. River Point Park to Beech Street
When completed these stretches along the Red Cedar and Grand River will be cleaned and cleared, looking their best and most enjoyable to use.

CREATE LASTING IMPACT
Join us for an afternoon of stewardship and community. There are many opportunities for those who choose to help on the water or for those who prefer to create impact on land. Whatever your preference, we'll find a place for you to help. Everything needed will be provided, including garbage bags, trash pickers, loppers, leaf blowers, PPE gloves, hand sanitizer, snacks, water, and more.

If you volunteer with a group of six or more, we'll feature your organization's logo or team name in our marketing. If you wish to support financially or in-kind, we would love to hear from you.

It is because of the generous support of so many that our work is possible, that our Red Cedar River is cleaner, healthier, and more pleasant to use. To learn more about the event and how you can support, drop us a note via the contact form below.
