​Lansing River Trail (Greenway)

Saturday, June 7, 10:00AM - 3:00PM 
Event Headquarters:  Potter Park Zoo w/ satellite sites at Rotary and Moores parks (10:00AM - 12:30PM)

To volunteer for either of our two Capital City parks beautification projects, scroll to the section below.

Join us on Saturday, June 7, 10:00AM - 3:00PM, as we continue to  make Lansing's treasured rivers and prized river trail system looking their best all year long  For those wanting to volunteer and work along our Lansing River Trailr, please take a moment to complete the signup sheet below.
For a most pleasant volunteer experience we recommend committing to about 2 - 2.5 hours, then join us afterwards at event headquarters for hospitality and a community-wide celebration. In advance, we thank you for your interest and support.
To help us assign you an area best for you, please share with us:
1) If you have a preferred section you would like to work on.
​- The map below lists our top nine priority areas. These areas are where Lansing's River Trails and Rivers are in close proximity of each other. 
2) The desired difficulty in terrain. 
- There is nothing more important than your personal safety. To allow us to assign an area that is comfortable for you, please let us know if you prefer an area where the terrain is considered, easy, moderate, or challenging.

CAPITAL CITY PARKS BEAUTIFICATION 

Everything needed will be provided including tree trimmers, trash bags, trash pickers, rakes, shovels, brooms, wheel barrows, snacks, bottled water, hand sanitizer, and more. If you are an arborist, expert gardener, or have specialized equipment which may be of help, please let us knew. We welcome your help.

MICHIGAN WATERWAYS STEWARDS RIVERS AND RIVER TRAIL CLEANUP
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS and WAIVER OF LIABILITY

Each volunteer must:
  1. Be 18 years or older or accompanied by an adult of 18 years or older.
  2. Sign a Michigan Waterways Stewards waiver of liability form (see below):
  • When completed either scan and email to [email protected], or bring to event headquarters prior to day's activities. 
  • These same forms will be available to sign at the day of the event, at event headquarters.
Event Headquarters: Potter Park Zoo with satellite sites at Rotary Park and Moorse Park.
